FBO Filtration Housing

Flow Rates Up to 75 GPM

Racor FBO Filter and Water Separator assemblies are specifically designed to meet the filtration requirements of today’s high pressure common-rail diesel injection systems. The unit is used for fuel dispensing pumps or as a primary fuel filter/water separator on large diesel engine applications.

FBO-14 filter assemblies were designed to meet the toughest conditions and offer ease of filter change outs. The FBO assembly can flow from 10 GPM (38 LPM) to 75 GPM (284 LPM), depending on which model, filter, and type of fuel to be filtered.

The assembly features a “locking ring collar”, which attaches the filter housing to the aluminum die cast filter head with four bolts. The slotted “locking ring collar” allows maintenance personnel to hand loosen the four collar bolts, rotate, and lower the bowl assembly for filter change-outs.

With a new filter cartridge installed, simply raise the bowl and rotate into position on the locking ring and hand tighten evenly (evenly torquing the 4 closure bolts to 100 lb-in is highly recommended).

The closure hardware consists of stainless steel nuts, bolts, and washers with metal hand knobs for ease of maintenance. No wrenches or other special tools are required, allowing one person to easily change the filter cartridge (no V-band clamps are used).

Biodiesel Filtration

Racor FBO Filter assemblies are great for biofuel applications because of ease of service, rugged construction, and the optional electric heater.

Biodiesel is known to attack certain synthetic rubber compounds so Viton o-rings are used to prevent o-rings from swelling, softening, shrinking, or hardening.

Racor recommends using a thermostatically controlled electric heater in the head and/or filter bowl to help avoid biofuel waxing and gelling. Pour point suppressants and biocides are necessary for reliable operation.

Racor FBO Filter Assembly Racor’s new FBO-10 and FBO-14 filter assemblies are designed to meet the toughest hydrocarbon refueling conditions and provide for ease of filter change-outs. The FBO Assembly can flow 25 gpm/95 lpm or up to 75 gpm/230 lpm depending on the model, the elements installed and fuel being filtered.

All FBO -14 filter assemblies sold on the diesel-fuels.com site include the “DPL” option that include the differential pressure gauge and sight glass option.

Powdercoated components capable of 150 psi @ 240 deg. F max design pressure.

Steel filter bowl assembly, a manual vent valve and a manual drain valve help provide ease of service – especially significant given the FBO assembly’s wide range of installations, including fuel trucks, fueling cabinets, diesel fuel dispensing systems, fuel docks and fuel systems on large diesel engines. 1 1/2″ NPT inlet and outlet.

The Racor® FBO-14 comes standard on the STS Series 6030 and the STS Series 7030 Automated Enclosed Fuel Treatment Systems.

Applications:

  • Jet Fuel
  • Aviation Gas
  • Gasoline
  • Kerosene
  • JP4, JP5 and JP8

  • Fuel Systems on Large Diesel Engines

Filter Cartridge Options

FBO-14 Filter CartridgeThe versatile FBO-14 filter assemblies have three cartridge options to meet most field applications.

For refueling applications the filter separator cartridge is used. The filter separator cartridge removes contaminants and water from kerosene, aviation gas, diesel fuel, gasoline and hydrocarbon fuels.

Silicon treated cellulose cartridges remove particle contaminants down to one micron.

Absorptive cartridges remove water and contaminants from fuel, oil or other hydrocarbon streams.
